I am happy to share the fifteenth edition of CC Chatterier’s Human Physiology which has achieved another milestone as a very popular book among readers in India and Asia. This book is dedicated to the fond memory of Dr Chandi Charan Chatterjee, the doyen physiologist and the author of the book, which was written in the Independence era of country in the year 1945. Dr Chandi Charan Chatteriee was the faculty at Calcutta Medical College. This book was widely read throughout the country and South East Asia for nearly four decades up to 1980s and helped medical and paramedical students to have firm understanding of the functional aspects of human body. Dr Chandi Charan Chatterjee passed away in 1984 but his book still remains in minds of millions of readers who read this book. Dr Chatterjee wrote a complete integrated physiology textbook with anatomy and brochemistry encompassed altogether in the era when there were no computers or any advance technology for printing available The integrated approach of incorporating anatomy, physiology and biochemistry in this single teebook was marveled by all academicians and was one of the salient features of the book of all the eleventh editions up to 1954. Indeed Dr Chandi Charan Chatterjee was a teacher, orator, author and academician par excellence Taking his noble work of enlightening medical students with intricate knowledge to physiology, 1, as Editor, took the challenge of editing the eleventh edition to the prescribed exusting syllabus and the 12th edition of CC Chatterier’s Human Physiology was brought in print in the year 2018. As the Medical Council of India recommended the CBME curriculum, the 13th edition was designed to match the newly designed curriculum. As inputs flowed in from academicians across the country, the same were taken into consideration and the fifteenth edition of the book has been written as per the latest NMC Guidelines Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) Curriculum under Graduate Medical Education Regulation. As we strive to keep the book updated this edibon is being launched in 2025.
