A Handbook of Introduction to Poetry – May 2026 (Paperback)

A Handbook of Introduction to Poetry has been designed, written and edited in accordance with the Syllabus of English for the First Year Honours students under National University, session 2024-2025. The book contains the prescribed texts along with the lives and works of the authors, Chronologies, Introductions/Backgrounds to the texts, Word-notes/Explanatory notes, Summaries/Critical summaries, and 10-marks (broad) questions with model answers, following the distribution of marks in the light of the instructions, given in the New Syllabus of National University.
This book includes three types of broad questions. Some questions have three sub-questions (a), (b), (c), some have two sub-questions, (a), (b) and some are independent questions, each carrying 10 marks. In addition, “Explanations” have been given separately, which may also be part of the broad questions. I believe the book will serve as a useful Textbook as well as a critical study or guidebook for the First Year Honours students, desiring high scores in their examinations.
